Prohibited: Walther HK G36 .22LR Info and Reference

Went back to the range and tried some CCI mini-mags and Aguilla Interceptor 40 grain rounds. Results were decent at 50m.

All in Im pretty happy. The trigger breaks nicely during rapid fire but can feel a bit stiff for slow concentrated fire. I like it. All shots were made from a bench using the G36 bipod.

Havent shot mine yet. Still deciding which config. to go with....gotta look tacticool when the gophers pop

I'm still looking for the full cap mags for this. Not sure if I want to go through IRG after reading about customer's feedback on ordering small parts like this.

Check wholesale sports if there are any in your area. They sell Colt M4-22 Magazines, Prophet river has Colt M4-22 Magazines, The ammo source has some out of stock Colt M4-22 magazines (might restock), Doctor deals has Colt M4-22 magazines available in store only. I've also seen them at the Calgary gun show last year.

The tactical replica line by Walther arms is mostly discontinued so it might be harder to source these magazines.

Where did you get the buttstock?

It's airsoft...... I figured its only a .22 so why not and it was only $60, if it breaks no big deal. Wasn't about to spend $700+ for a stock/handguard kit on a $600 gun. Fit wasnt perfect, i had to put a couple washers in the ears of the hinge for the lock to line up but now it locks up tight, swings smooth, and feels really solid.

Spoke to Prophet River, sales rep said they're 10/30 round mags.

Welp that's weird. IRUNGUNS might be the only game in town for getting more magazines. It just took so long to classify the rifle its out of production so the usual Canadian supply chains can't get any so you will basically have to get them internationally which basically means the US.

Where did you get the buttstock?

I'm not sure of the exact stock but Herooutdoors sells a G36 airsoft stock like it so does 007 Airsoft

Obviously it most likely won't be drop in fit, you might have to hand fit it to your gun.

Im up to 1k rounds through mine now. 40 grain Aguila Interceptors being what it likes the best. Up to 4 x 20 rd mags now and this is easily one of my top firearms now. I freakin love blasting away with the bipod... i feel like a mini LMG gunner and the accuracy is decent enough. Very happy!

Might just be me, but my Colt M4-22 10 rd magazines suck. I can't fire all 10 without a FTF happening. I think the magazine sits too low or the follower is screwed up as it keeps on denting the .22lr cartridge right in the middle instead of grabbing it from the rear and chambering it. Tried Federal automatch, CCI mini mag, CCI Ar tactical. There is always at least 1 FTF in the series of 10.

I guess the 20 rd and 30 rd magazines are best.

Damn.... Just took this thing to the range tonight and it shoots like a lazer. My groups of 20rds were the size of a nickle at 50yrds (sorry forgot to take pictures i was so excited). I also had ZERO malfunctions in 300rds using CCI 40gr Velocitors....gophers watch out! The only minor complaint i have so far is if you do a rapid string of shots the smoke comes though the back of receiver into my nostrils, other than that i thinks shes a keeper.

I thought I would post some images of trying out an Airsoft scope to complete a German army look. This is more just a proof of concept then actually keeping it that way, I don't exactly trust an airsoft scope to keep their zero but for replicating the look it can do the job nicely. The FDE model was like $20 which is why I bought that one. This is just for people who want to replicate the G36 look without trying to export a real G36 scope which costs real $$$.

Honestly this airsoft G36 scope is pretty terrible, the eye relief on the 3.5x is basically you pressed up on the scope and the red dot is practically the same being so small. If you want the look it can work, but for practical shooting you'll probably be better served with aftermarket red dots/scopes on the regular rail.

It uses LR1 batteries like these ones The battery compartment is the one that you unscrew out on the left side of the scope with a large flat head.

You have to completely file down this extra attachment nub if you are using an airsoft G36 scope. Otherwise you can't slide it on.

Cool! Yeah I'm finding that most airsoft parts need some fitting, but they work.

Here's mine for now

Dlask fake suppressor
Airsoft aluminum front and rear rail inserts to cover the gaps from removing the front/rear sights
Bushnell 1-4x dusk til dawn
Airsoft G36C stock with recoil pad removed, and diy cheek riser. Gotta say the airsoft stock feels stronger and stiffer than the original...
Strategically put some rubber adhesive pads into small gaps to eliminate tiny movements - the rifle is now rock solid!

With this setup the rifle is only 34" and 6.8lbs. feels good and not too crazy long like in the original configuration.

Shoots well so far. Trigger is crisp but heavy, I'm guessing 7-8lbs. The rifle points well and feels good in the hands. Action is robust. Time will tell on longevity. 600 rounds without skipping a beat. I've been sticking to 1200fps and up, copper plated bulk ammo. I'd be happy if I go past 1500 rounds without cleaning.

How did you get the dlask fake suppressor to fit the barrel? I understand that the flash hider is pinned on.. is the barrel threaded ?
