Project 10.22 - Ruger 10/22 Stock

Elimsprint, I am just using a washer. You are right, not nearly as good as going right through where it is just metal on metal, but better than the factory set up as at least it will be a solid platform for the action to sit on.

Sorry for no updates as of late guys. Been very busy and the weather here hasn't been great for painting (snow yesterday, etc but beautiful day today). I am glass bedding it right now and then maybe I can get around to painting it tomorrow or tuesday. I decided flames were going to be just too hard so I am just going to paint it black with yellow stripes. That will be easier as I can just use tape...

Shortround,
It is a garden hose to 3/8"? compression fitting from Home Depot. It's in plumbing in the plastic home waterline (pex?) dept. The top pic is what it looked like from the package and after you take the washer out it just comes apart into the threaded hose collar and the piece I used. Next time I am in HD I will get the exact part #. I don't see why it wouldn't be strong enough for a .308 as long as it bolts down the same as a 10/22 and the bolt isn't too thick for the hole in this part. That said I believe you can also get these in a larger hose size so the bottom piece would be bigger with a larger hole.

Finally got around to doing this. I have been extremely busy and unfortunately did not finnish this project nearly as soon as I was hoping but got some good weather for painting today. I decided to just paint it black and speckle it with yellow. I kind of have mixed thoughts about how it came out, but I supose it is allright. It shoots preatty good anyway.

Will post better pics later when it is all done (it is still drying). In all fairness pictures don't exactly do it justice.

Thanks!

Cyclone, pictures with it all assembeled soon. It is still drying however and will likely be several days before I get everything into place.

The speckling wasn't very hard at all because the paint I bought in the spray-can came out very coursely. So I just stood back about a foot and a half from it and sprayed it lightly and it came out like that.
