VZ Project "Guinness" (aka Black & Tan). Finished with Coyote Brown.

We wanted something practical yet high contrast to showcase our VZ products on the webstore in pictures and media. It really changes the look of the VZ and adds to the Modernization Upgrades we offer. All that's left is to bead blast the brake and paint it.

Thanks to Arma Coat for the great product. I've done 2 rifles now (Swiss Classic "Tan"), and aside from the prep work it's a breeze to do. We sandblasted everything and having the equipment in house makes it a snap, but most people may not have the ability to blast at home.

I'm always surprised at how much more I can like this platform with every modification.

Dude you need a aimpoint T1 or H1 instead of that thing, lower 1/3 cowitness ftw.
And an ambi safety.
And a nice tan paracord wrap on the Ace.
:p
Nice boomstick man.

Does NEA make longer rails for the lower HG yet? Not a fan of the big holes on the side.

Comp is on there because my SPARC got killed on the weekend. The Comp has been a trusty backup though. Always seems to find its way back on there somehow. Must be Aimpoint voodoo.

The Ambi safety I took off for a good customer since we were sold out.

As for the paracord sissy wrap.. I grow my padding on my face like a man. ;)

.. the 4" rails are the longest you can install, the last two holes are for ventilation, you can't mount anything back there because of the depth of the receiver in that area.

True true, i forgot about the mounting method. The little bar wouldnt fit.
Its only sissy till its -40c and that ##### is cold as f**k :D, the benefits of a beard eh..

And as for the sparc, you get what you pay for i guess. Cant beat the aimpoints for durability.

Can't beat Vortex for warranty... within 5 mins of it dieing on course it was in One Shot Tac's hands to be sent in. Pretty slick. I've killed more Aimpoints than Vortex's..

Their price is right, nothing wrong with them, but they arent aimpoints. Good midrange optic.

Aimpoints have a combat proven track record that speaks for itself.

Just sayin,

Out of curiosity what did it cost you to have that CZ refinished?

No,
Theres 2 ways you can do it.
Either cut/indent the top of the Saw grip till it fits around the oval pad, which doesnt modify your rifle at all.
or
Remove the oval pad thing entirely, theres some tutorials on how to do it somewhere, ill see if i can find them.

We picked up a couple colors from Arma Coat. Taxes and Shipping it was ~$100. We've done two rifles already, enough paint left to do 3-4 more? Prep and paint time itself is the factor for me.. 45mins to disassemble, probably 2 hours sand blasting everything, another hour painting, an hour to dry then bake, another 45mins to reassemble. 5.5 hours total?

We're pretty short on 5.5 hour blocks of "free time" and did this job after midnight yesterday, but it was worth the loss of sleep.

I did use it as a chance to try out this case of Preval Sprayers we picked up. Which are an excellent way to apply this stuff..
