Project Suggestions

Good grief... every time these threads come up, it positively shocks me just how many people don't understand why the item they're requesting doesn't exist or isn't popular...

The last mass-produced American-made belt fed guns that came into Canada sold for north of $20k, you don't wanna imagine what a Canadian-made one would cost in today's economy. It's not exactly something you can engineer overnight, nor is it something in particularly high demand.

And as far as a side-gate loading lever action .22 goes..... well I guess your thumbs must be a good deal smaller than my own :d

My request would be a 9999 joule recoilless non-restricted semi auto that's 26.5" OAL and weighs under 6lbs, with a chrome lined bore and one of those dust covers that I can open quietly before I shoot so it doesn't scare the deer.

Sarcasm aside, keep up the great work Maple Ridge! +1 for the PCC idea :)

Not sure if this "blow back" design is legal for use in Canada.

Compact, folding, single-shot pistol-calibre survival rifle. Think of a Chiappa Little Badger, but not as cheap, and in 9mm. Most everything else has been done to death.

A charging bolt like the triathlon rifle have . The charging handle would come down near the shooting hand and would be much easier and faster to operate.

PCC's are hot, but how about one in .454 casull or 460s&w- maybe stretching the definition of pistol a bit :)

You'd have to have a controlled delay action - roller, toggle, gas, long recoil, short recoil.

What a bush hunting gun that would be

Probably have to be tube fed, because making magazines is hard as all heck and I don't know of any 454casull magazine fed things you could borrow from.

Anything ultra-light (5lb, or less?) and compact as much as possible (while keeping it non-restricted) in 5.7x28 (because the ammo is very light too) will attract my attention. It doesn't have to be a semi-auto. In fact, I would prefer it to be a manual action to keep it's barrel short (11-12 inches?). Choosing between straight pull and a true bolt-action, I would prefer true bolt-action, but in a light aluminum receiver (like Sig Cross). Take-down design, or folding at the chamber (like Keltec sub2000) would make it even more attractive. And it may be better to keep it more streamlined and with less protruding parts - it really doesn't need a pistol grip.
