Projectile for 6x45 1:14" twist?

Bought a well used mini-14 rebarreled for 6x45, and from my highly scientific cleaning rod spin test, it would appear to have a 1:14" twist barrel, definitely not ideal. What is the optimal projectile weight/length for this particular twist rate, for general range use, and possibly some animal use.
 
70 or 75 grain might be your max, it's going to depend more on bullet length rather then barrel twist, it's a cool little cartridge and I have built a couple on bolt actions, making brass is simple but keep your 6x45 ammo well separated from any .223 ammo you may have lying around
 
Bob Melik a Guns+ Ammo writer had a Contender pistol done up for deer hunting in a 6mmx45 with a 1-10 twist for 85gr bullets etc. it's likely you will be using 55gr bullets at best I doubt heavier will hit nose first.

14 twist is a very common twist in the benchrest 6mmppc world, 64-70 grain bullets hit the target with ease, with 15 twist things get dicey but 13.5 covers all altitudes, I have nothing to gain by selling you a magazine so take it for what it's worth
 
I stand corrected then I remember Mr.Melik going with a 1-10 for deer bullets.There is also a .25 Copperhead based on a .222 parent case by John Wooters. The .556 was based on a 1-12 and a 55gr/M16 but has now morphed into a 1-7 with 70+ gr bullets.I doubt a 1-12 would shoot 70gr worth a hoot or they wouldn't have wasted money changing the twist.That was my line of thought 1-14 should be worse?
 
I shoot 80 grain bullets to 500 yards with a 12 twist 6mm barrel, 68's with a 14 twist, 90s with a 10 and 105's with a 8 twist, the cool thing is shillen has a bullet weight/twist chart on their website if your ever confused or curious
 
Awesome caliber, I’ve built a 6 x 45 SLR, which has a 1:8 twist barrel, and have managed to use 100gr bullets to good effect. One is severely limited by OAL to fit in AR mags. I’m sure you would face a similar problem with the mini14 mags.
 
I've got a Cooper 6x47 Remington, And Sako 6PPC, both with 1-14 twist, my Cooper 6x45 is 1-10,
However, all three rifles, shoot the Serria 75 gr flat biased hollow point, extreamy well, sub 1/2" in both the 6x47rem and 6x45, for five shots.
I would start with bullet, or a 70 gr balastic tip, the 75 gr I've shot a few deer and goats, with, held together well, at 2950fps, out of my 6x45.
