Hey guys, has anyone tried the Gen 2 promag 9-22 that Hical mentioned? did they fix the feeding issues with the first run? My 32 rd. promags have about had it so its time for new hicaps, I cant decide between these, standard 25 rd promags or butler creek steel lips. The 9-22 without the shell look cool but do they work well?

They seem to work good. I just bought two of them last weekend. My buddy has been using them for awhile now and won't touch his Butler Creeks anymore. The only drawback is Promag doesn't have a loader.

Have you tried them in a butler creek loader? I know the standard promags work well with it

I have 4 and tried them out last weekend. No the butler creek loader will not work on them. Youll have to hand load. Loading to max capacity, 25 rounds, will cause a failure to feed unless you push forward on the charging handle. I don't know if that was due to my trigger group and spring upgrade or not but if there was 24 rounds or less in the mag it fed everytime.

Work fine for me.

I have one of the gen 1 and two of the gen 2. All of these work fine for me so far, no feed issues that others have experienced.
I currently only load them with 20 rnds until the spring gets broken in. It gets really stiff loading after 20 rounds.

At next opprotunity, I'll be getting some replacement feed lips to have on hand. A smart design if you are going to have polymer feed lips (though I hope they design a steel lip version at some point).

BB.

I have one, and have been using it extensively. I have been able to fit the full 25 rounds in every time (was tight the first couple times, but it loosened), and I have had no issues with the mag not feeding while at full capacity. I even received a new set of feed lips for my gen 1 mag, which was faulty, and it now works just as well as the gen 2. Aside not having the metal mag catch on the outside as the gen 2 does.
