Got my new Promags from Hi-Cal today (thanks very much for the great service by the way).
I thought I may have an issue with these mags and my mag release on the 10.22.. and, well, I was right. The Volquartsen mag release I have won't allow the mag into the mag well to seat.
Has anyone else had an issue like this, and is so, what was the remedy?

Dremel?? :D

There is a thread with pictures with how to fix this problem. I bought an extended mag release as well, thought it wouldn't be an issue, but it is as well. I just left the covers off of my mags right now, but dremel is the way to go.

I'd hate to have to change the mag release, I've had it for years and it works well. I guess the dremel will be getting a little workout soon. ;)

I'll see if I can find that post with the pictures.

Thanks for the reply.

This is how we do it.....

Plink,

I installed the PWS-T3-Lever mag release I picked up from Questar on my SR-22. Now the Promags I bought from HiCal lock in with no problems and no alterations to the mag.

I just got 4 of the same mags from hical the other day also. I have an sr22 and had to do the dremel mod to make them fit. I just searched up the thread mentioned and did the same modifications and now they fit great!

TFunfer,

does the T3 lever interfere with the manipulation of the bolt open catch? It kind of looks like you have to work the T3 lever in order to manipulate the catch from your one photo?

No, you can work the bolt hold open latch without needing to move or manipulate the T3 lever. Though I do plan on picking up an extended bolt hold open with auto release from Hical.

These extended bolt releases are a must have, they fix the flaw in the 10/22s bolt hold open design, anyone who has worked the stock bolt hold open knows what i mean! They extend to lock open easily & have a auto bolt release built in, they are under $20, HERE.

Or, you can make one with the existing release for free if you have a dremel :D

Exactly what this Stingy Old Fox did when I installed the VQ Target Hammer, VQ Hex Head take down bolt, VQ Exact Edge Extractor, VQ Extended Mag release and a Tuffer Buffer in my 1980's carbine.

BTW, I think that I may have my TI 25 mags raedy to test when opportunity presents itself. :)
