Promag M1A/M305 Precision Stock PICTURE Review

Must... buy..another...reliable.. chinese firearm...for cheap$$$$.. haha

here fixed it again. Norincos from my very long and extensive knowledge on them is that they are VERY good guns for the money. Bought my pops a 1911 for xmas 3 years ago and he put atleast 3000 rounds through it and the thing is still running strong. All he has done is replace the thumb saft

My Norc AR has a couple of thousand rounds through it to and it keeps on trucking. It isnt to spec but nothing a ley.ittle elbow grease cant take care of

My Norc m14 has maybe 6-700 rounds and it is fantastic. Rear sight is stuck now but no big deal as I use a scope

It's not for the quality I just try to buy American. I know not everything I buy is made in America but my big purchases will be.

I was in two minds about this stock but seeing it in Jerry's posting convinced me to pick one up. I figure I will put my Springfield M1A into it - will be interesting to see how it fits; I am guessing quite well as the M1A is what one assumes the stock marker used for specs. Should be a fun build, Harris S series on the front, Arms #18 and decent glass on the back and decent ammo down the pipe - can't wait !

i respect that, as long as people dont quote the ''if you love your freedom'' bul$//t

imo buying norinco allows you the possibility to buy 2-3 firearms on the same budget... which is like gold when you are a family man with a lot of expenses.

should we have to go to war and supply our own guns... i would trust a norc if the gun in question would be used by a foreign army... being a banana republic or otherwise

the AR is used by foreign armies...i also had no issues with mine besides esthetics that are somewhat shabby on certain parts.

as for ethics of buying from china, taking in fact that every major canadian city has a china town, i dont think that we are in a hostility situation with china, should we be some day, i will simply claim that i have a ''captured'' enemy piece of equipment.

It is wonderfully balanced right on the grip so it should work out well with an action in it. The grip, shape and size is a perfect fit for my hands. I would really like this set up in a bolt rifle stock.

Rigid and solid, promag has moved injection molding to a whole new level.

Enjoy the pics. I am really hoping that Promag will make these stocks for bolt guns.
Jerry

I would also love to see this stock for a Savage Centerfeed detachable mag.

...I do not have an action to fit so we will wait for the happy members who will have theirs by next week.

Jerry

Perhaps you should send a sample to Hungry to evaluate with an action. He's one of the resident M14 gurus here on CGN. Or M14Doctor, though that may or may not put him in a conflict of interest position.

one is on it's way to me ;)
I do make custom stocks...... but they are in a totally differnet price range than where the Promag lands. My business endeavors is to be able to offer many options for custom rifle builds and not only products branded m14doctor or in the case of my stocks ICRW.
Keeping an inventory of the Promag stock will be simply good business as far as i'm concerned. Not everyone wants to spend 500 plus on a full custom carbon fiber composite rifle stock. Not everyone needs the advantages of this material over plastic injected material.

It is true that any review of a composite type (plastic or advanced composites) rifle stock NOT made in my shop will appear biased to the masses. However I will give a review regardless :)
I am cooperating on other business with Mystic Precision and promag product is not excluded from this. He's not my competition in other words ;)

Looking forward to getting a hands on :dancingbanana:

You will but it will not be factory :D

Given the number that are sent and the number that will go out late May, we will have plenty of feedback on a wide range of rifles and users.

Jerry

You have piqued my interest by those comments. I don’t mean to hijack the thread but can’t ignore what you just said. You can’t leave us hanging like this. Do you or someone you know have new stocks coming out????

That's good news Thomas. Looking forward to your review. Don't worry, your reputation is gold here on CGN.

Not unless someone specifically asks. Alot of stuff goes out the door. next few days are going to be bonkers getting things booked and shipped.

Send me a PM or email and I will try and get you the info in the next day or two. The stock might arrive before I give you the info :)

Jerry

Sorry if this has been asked before, but is there any type of mechanical "bedding" fixure or is it a simple drop in like a standard USGI stock?
