Promag M1A/M305 Precision Stock PICTURE Review

My stock showed today. The action was very tight to get in but the trigger group will not hinge in half way. Anyone have a diagram adn better expalnation of where to remove material to fit.

I hav not shot it yet of course but absolutely love the stock and it is more than worth the money. I am planning on shooting mine this sunday as well.

Fitting is done, pretty easy, and it's tight like a nuns ****! So very happy with! I'll get some pictures up later once the wife let's me down into the basement again.........

Hi,
I got my Archangel today and started fitting it to my Polytech. Everything went pretty well it is sort of obvious were to take off material, however when I got the action all the way into the stock there was still about a 1/16 inch gap at the back of the receiver and the trigger group will go in all the way but the trigger guard is not even close to closing! I took just a little off of the trigger pads to see if it made a marked difference and it did not. I read the article about fitting this stock. I cannot see anywhere that he is talking about on the right side of the receiver! Pics would of helped alot, now I'm wondering if I should take of any more material from the pads till the trigger guard will lock into the receiver and bring the back of the receiver down?
If any of you guys fitting a Norc could chime in on what you found fitting I would appreciate it!

It took some pushing down on the receiver and up on the trigger group with the palm of my hand on the trigger guard to get mine to go together..I only removed a little bit of the trigger pads with a file to get mine in.That worked for me and it passed the trigger test after and shot fine .

I would say remove a little more of the pads if the front is ok and you cant squeeze it together.
Is your front swivel contacting the rifle ? Is the handguard coming in contact with the stock ?

The Doc mentioned in his thread that filing the inside edge of the stock at an angle stock under the oprod is required ..

Hi CR,
Yes I clearenced the sling stud inside the receiver to begin with. The handgaurd looks excellent it is even all along the length of the stock? It's just the rear of the receiver and it does not flex when I push down. I have pics but for some reason am not allowed to post them? Thank you for the help, still wondering?

Here is a highlight of the are that needs to be beveled. if you look on the bottom of the receiver you will see that the oprod "flange" is angled and dips lower than the rest of the receiver. As M14Doctor says this step must be done prior to fitting the trigger pads to avoid too much material being removed.

Luckily for me I fitted the trigger group very tight so when I relieved the oprod flange area the trigger group was still reasonably tight.

Nice pic of the area ..thanks Phishtapher i will have to do mine too as it went together but it was pretty tight getting the trigger to lock in.

Thanks Gentlemen very very much! I clearanced that area marked in red and it seems the back of the receiver is almost down to the stock but the trigger guard is still in the same place and no closer to closing! It might be that these stocks vary somewhat and I just got a fat one! All I know to do now is start taking material from the trigger pads until I get a good tight lock up? Thanks again!
