Promag M1A/M305 Precision Stock PICTURE Review

Everyone is talking about the JAE and Sage stock sure they are great but they are military grade stuff. Nothing wrong with that, but my life doesnt depend on my M14 stock so in my opinion the Archangel will provide a good, less expensive alternative to somehting that for me is overkill. I want to have fun with it take it to range not worry about scraching a 1,5k$ stock.

My 2 cents

Appreciate the kind comment Drewz.

i also was pleased with the excellent service Jerry provided, i just got my stock as well !!!!...words cant express my satisfaction : i just love it!
will definately do business with mystic precision again!

now, question is, do i suck it up and be tired at the office tomorrow for working on my m14 all night or do i just call in sick tomorrow and enjoy fitting the stock during the day...

decisions, decisions...

at least ;
its for a good cause....

Next batch of stocks are heading to my dist. I will know next week how many I will receive and will contact those on my preorder list.

I will begin contacting people Tuesday at the earliest. More likely Wed.

From the sounds of things, the production is catching up so I hope to have most of what I have requested.

If this is so, I should be able to offer stocks to those who have made requests this week.

Away at the Kamloops Sierra Match this weekend so will not be responding to any emails or PMs

Update next week.

True it may not be up to SAGE or JAE in terms of precision but it is affordable. Much as I would love one of those...but a $500 ChiCom rifle in a $1200-ish stock just doesn't make the most sense to me. I'll be more than happy with $300 stock on a $500 rifle. My names on the wait list.

took me a while to get back here, i was busy fitting my new archangel stock...

i agree that if the core of your firearm(i.e. , the gun itself) is worth 500 bucks... to spend 2500 $ in various bling is a only beneficial if in a long term plan you intend upgrade all the questionable parts from chinese to american or canadian parts...then the gun itself then has so much of a makeover that it turns to a work of art... i 've been down this road before... its a costly one , with some harships....have to plan to be in the doghouse a few times as well...

exactly what i was talking about, thanx for posting the pic.
, you can file this location untill it is flat with the area ahead of it for a nice even ledge..... or bevel it out and down to the outside of the stock, creating the same angle as the forward reciever bearing pads.

trust what is said here, file the side down ...

i had to do that , and trim down the trigger pads.... be carefull as this stuff grinds off easily...

Hello All
I did exactly as M14Doctor advised.....filed down trigger group stock contact points to same angle as OEM. Filed off ledge on top where receiver contacts. Also filed down the sling swivel stud inside the forearm. Overall it fit nice after a bit of tuning and took about an hour to do. Stock is very tight. No increase in accuracy to report for me over a tricked out USGI fiberglass bedded stock. Still roughly 1 to 3 inch groups no matter the ammo. Rifle has 18.5" barrel, tuned trigger, after market springs through out, stainless one piece guide rod, unitized gas system...blah blah blah highly tuned M14 hard stuff done by the good Doctor. Accuracy limitation most likely due to operator and 1 to 5 power scope. However I must say that the ergonomics are much better now. All in all well worth the money in my limited opinion. Mystic Precision was the epitome of the perfect sale. Only wish is that the manufacturer designed the rail running for about 3 inches on both sides of the stock for a white light and that the sling swivel stock was on the bottom side of the forearm of the stock so a adapter to use a standard Harris Bi-pod was not required. Other than that the stock is fantastic and really minor annoyances that are easily forgotten when I think about what I paid for the stock and how painless the transaction was.

I can offer side rails but the risk is that the bolt interferes with the moving parts.

Glad all went well.

Stocks do not increase accuracy. They only allow what accuracy is available.

Barrels, bedding and bullets are what improve group size.

With proper handloads, I was able to get my Norcs MOA. Some better some a bit worse.

But with a crappy stock or stock fit, doesn't matter what you do, the rifle will shoot poorly.
