ProMag or Mec-Gar?

Never had a problem with a MecGar..Can't say that for the ProMag as I have had more than 1 fail on numerous occasions. Keep in mind that MecGar is the ghost maker of mags for numerous gunmakers, only with their markings on the mag.

Mec-Gar makes great quality mags at very reasonable prices. They make the S&W M&P mags and Beretta factory mags. ProMag isn't in the same class as Mec-Gar.

I don't post in this forum much but when I do it's to give a thumbs up for mec-gar mags...............

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Mec-gar it is then.
Too bad i just blew all the $$$ i saved in EE tonight on a .22.

Hope the 20% off sale is still on for a while longer...

Mec-Gar, no question. They produce OEM mags for a number of big name manufacturers. Very well made, good springs, reliable and those I've owned have never needed adjustment to feed properly.

Another no brainer.

Mec Gar all the way.

20+ years using their stuff...no problems.

Pro Mag......bought some for my 92FS....the lips were sharp and cut me.

Had Mec-Gar mags for Ruger P89 and Beretta 92, completely flawless functionality.

Had 2 Promag 1911 magazines (10 rounders) and returned them after my first trip to the range.

18 failure to feeds in 50 rounds fired, extremely disappointing.

Moved onto Chip McCormick Power Mags for my 1911 and not a single hiccup in 300 rounds.

I got my Mec Gar today. Very impressed with the quality. It actually lock in better than my factory Beretta mags do.
The only down side is that it is pinned to 7 not 10. Because of that it was 20% off, so win for me as long as i can get it pinned properly. Even if i dont i still got a sweet deal on a 7/15 round mag.
