"ProMag" quality?

Used some in my HK USP. Decent mags, biggest plus is that the bodies are all metal unlike a lot of mags with 1/3 plastic bases.

I had mixed results with them. I have had much better luck with Mec Gar or factory mags which are usually not that much more than the Pro Mags.

older promag are junk, poor steel and poor springs

plastic promags are ok, if you like disposable plastic.

newly made pistol and rifle mags are good. I have a few sig and mini 14 mags and not a single issue. The steel and finsh are decent. The only thing I cannot comment on is spring life. I will let you know in a few years how they work out.

Like a previous poster said it depends on the model of gun. I heard they were horrible but the couple of ten rounders I bought for my Ruger P345 have worked flawlessly.

I haven't seen or used a Pro-mag yet that was worth a damn. If you're looking for off-brand OEM magas, the lowest I'd go is Mec-Gar. They're generally decent mags and offer few problems compared some of the crap on the market these days. With auto pistols, I always recommend buying the absolute highest quality magazines you can afford. Saves a lot of headaches and cursing on the range clearing jams and FTEs. I speak from experience here as I tried to go as cheap as I could in my younger, dumber and more poverty-stricken university days.
