Does anyone here own one of these? I just purchased one and now I want to get the following for it;

- Wireless remote
- Full wobble kit (Side to side and up and down)
- Delay cable

Just wondering if anyone here has any feedback on both the machine and the accessories I am thinking of purchasing.

Thanks! Hairy

Out at my farm/acreage private range I am currently running two of the standard merlins and four with the wobble kit. I've been running them for the past 3 years, and have yet to fix anything on any of the machines.

Regarding remotes - I started out with the long range LT200 system on a couple machines, and was wholly dissatisfied with it, enough that for a small time I went to a wired cable with a foot petal release (highly recommended if all you're looking at is a single machine). If you don't want to buy the foot petal, it can be easily made with a trip to an industrial electric supply store.

Now I'm up to a full 6 machines in a setup that's most closely described as a couple of fitasc stands, and I'm using long range R4300 receivers with the long range T8 transmitter. It is an awesome remote setup that works very well, even in varying terrain.

Regarding the machines; if I only had one machine I would want it to be a wobble machine, however they are definitely battery drainers by comparison to the standard machine without the wobble. The reason for this is that the wobble is permanently on...it does not cycle on only when it throws a clay, rather it just goes and goes and goes. In retrospect I should have only bought 2 wobbles and had all the rest of my machines as standard merlins without the wobble.

I sold a bunch of guns to get my clay thrower setup, and hands down it is the most fun I have ever had.

Cheers, and good luck!

I have not run one to exhaustion; I turn them on when using them for an hour or two then turn them off while we take a break. Have gone as long as 3 days like this then charged batteries.

The retail price in USD is listed in the link I provided in post #1.

If you want a real time price, I would contact Tom at T.A Ferguson & Associates Inc. in Airdrie. His number is (403) 935-5595.

He is a really good guy!

I just wanted to update this and say how incredibly impressed I have been with this Promatic Merlin!! WOW! I have well over 1000 clays through it since I bought it a couple weeks back and ZERO,..yes ZERO broken clays! I have so far only used it with the side to side swivel and the up and down wobble will be added to the machine on Friday for a full wobble effect.

Does anyone else out there own one of these?

In my opinion, the only downside is the cart they include. Is it sufficient? Sure! But I went and purchased one of those 900b capacity pneumatic tire wagons with the expanded metal. I will be modifying it to be a custom clay cart that I can load and unload myself onto my truck using ATV ramps.

5 months now with the Merlin and I gotta say. WOW! For my use and just having the one machine it is a great setup! I have had exactly zero issues with it. I may be upgrading next year but for now this machine is wicked! If anyone is kicking tires about getting a clay machine,..this is the one to get hands down.

Cheers,..Hairy
