Proper rivet placement to make a 5/20 M-14 mag?

Hypothetically speaking if someone had to rivet a standard 20 round m-14 mag where exactly along the mag would be do so?

Weld a piece of steel to the bottom of the follower and trim as required.pop rivet floor plate on.

Long enough to interfere with the follower, so, 1/2"? 1/4" could do it too, as long as it works.... Go 1/2", unless you want to take all day about it.

ive never riveted a mag, always added to the follower inside, copyed the norc long followers. i HATE drilling holes in mags

That is a ridiculous amount of work to comply with a law that shouldn't even exist. How is welding any better. The extreme heat compromises the mag much more that a simple hole ever would.

who said anything about welding?
if you take apart a 5/20 norc mag you will see it has a long tab on the follower. i make a peice from tin and rivet it to the original piece. rivet is leagal outside so cant see why it wouldnt be on the inside. i just hate drilling holes in mags

opps my bad, sorry. i see someone did say weld on a piece to the follower.
the norc mags with the factory long tab dont have the floorplate riveted on, cant see why we would have to do that ether

Are you guys all buying usgi mags from the US or something? WAIT, do not answer that question!

It's a norc mag and it came that way from Marstar. I have no technical details on the actual rivet itself.
