Lol.. Well, a ride check cop is a person I've never met, so they haven't done anything to deserve it, in my eyes.. For that reason I wouldn't find amusement in insulting them

last check stop i went through and got stopped the cop asked me where i was coming from and where i was going too.
i told him we just left the bar and we where going to the gun range.
he laughed and waved us through.

granted i was driving a ambulance at the time but i had no problems.

Agreed, I read the fact sheet ... also read the reg which states (in part):

(c) it is in a locked container that is made of an opaque material and is of such strength, construction and nature that it cannot readily be broken open or into or accidentally opened during transportation;

Has there ever been a definition of this section? What constitutes compliance to "of such strength, construction and nature that it cannot readily be broken open" is undoubtedly different to us all ... to some it might mean a steel case, to others a fabric case with a lock on the zipper ...

By that definition, I could put my M&P15 in a soft case with a trigger lock on it, then drop that into the side box on my RAM 1500 (Rambox option, it's a beautiful thing) which is lockable, and meet the minimum criteria. Nice.
