I know a little bit about retail and I have some confidence in saying that no way is Prophet River even trying to compete with Cabela's. They are a niche one store operation that is driving business through customer service and being able to offer customized type of service as well as access to product that you may not be able to get at a Cabela's type outlet. If they were trying to compete with the big box stores they would be out of business in no time flat. Different business model.
Try getting Cabela's to bring in a Cooper or Montana Rifle from the US at any price. Sometimes its just not about the race to zero on the pricing model, just ask Remington about that.

Remington OVERPRICED all their stuff with inferior quality. Not sure that your analogy has any substance. PR Is the perfect store for specialized products. Many of us don't buy the irregular stuff. All I'm saying is that many people who buy the end product don't pay extra for nice guys nice service on items available at lower prices in other shops.

Prophet River is the best run gun store in canada in my opinion, The staff and owner are alway pleasant to deal with and will go above and beyond to help you out. If you want a quality product and great service Profit River is the place to shop

I ordered from them a few times and they went above and beyond - my next trip out to Alberta will include a visit to Prophet River. I originally found out about them by word of mouth several years ago that they are great to deal with.

They have B&C stocks, I've ordered 3 off them over the years

Traded in 3 used scopes for 1 new Swaro with PR in the fall

Just bought a rifle on sale ($1400), a scope ($900) on sale and they took another $150 off for me!

Never had a problem and like stated before they are a niche company.
