Prophet River's Handguns and future shipments

I almost bought a G41 earlier in the week. Had my RPAL filled in and then said I said NO. Last one sold a few minutes later.

Now, the G21 Gen 4 listed which is even more satisfying for me because of the shorter barrel and I caved. I had a tough time choosing between 21SF Gen 3 and 21 Gen 4. Width and trigger distances appear to be identical. The extra mag and being a newer generation hopefully means at least some improvements.

Thanks a whole lot Prophet! I thought my panic buying was over. lol

the gen 4 comes with backstraps also. The SF is just a tiny bit narrower.

No. Not at all. You are confusing registrations with transfers. When we import a restricted firearm, we have to register it. Then transfer when sold. The fear is, the government will start reviewing all registrations (not transfers) when the import ban kicks in tonight. They could then review these for weeks(normally is is instant and automatic) meaning it would possibly then be too late to initiate a transfer if they get C-21 approved.

Did this end up happening or are your registrations still going through fine?

Appears to be so, one would wonder how quickly the interpretation of this export ban will make it through the system to impact the reg process for importers.

Just a story or two higher on the media feed for the liberal propaganda service (CBC) was a story about how a regulatory screw up in federal legislation was causing major issues with pending criminal drug trials. I doubt anyone saw the irony...

This article doesn't address what the question was. PR explained they were worried that after today that handguns that are in Canada but not registered to the dealer could run into problems. It was the in between. The border is now closed but guns over the border on route might not have serials assigned to dealers. this is what they wanted to avoid. They were staying up late to get all the paperwork done so the guns are in there name for transfers to happen.

So long story short, Border is closed, transfers are still happening dealer to consumer.

Between the g20 gen3 and the g40 (obviously gen 4) the actual hand feel of the grips is considerably different, the texture and grippy-ness of the gen4 fits my hands better in wet/ cold conditions (if you still have a bit of extra finger reach a 'grip sleeve' also works, bearing in mind in cold conditions you will also likely wear gloves).

I couldn't tell if there was any change in the glock 'finger grooves that fit no one', and the front of the trigger guard still has very non-grippy serrations. Biggest diffs will be sight radius, which isn't a big deal with a bit of training and your chosen aftermarket sights. A 41 will usually give less barrel flip.

I swear that one poster is from Poly. Exact same post I read on the CBC site was on their FB page or on another article, can't remember which and it had an official "Poly" title.

Ah yes, my bad.
That would be interesting, since what they describe putting in is an import ban, and not a reg ban.
When i import a piece of specialized equipment i need the paperwork for the import when the sea-can crosses into canada (border/port/airport). With guns I would assume thats mostly courier. Would seem more of a border services implemented policy (import/export ban) than a rcmp cfp one, but I wouldn't put it past them to try. But you would end up with a bunch of firearms that were legally allowed to cross the border, and now aren't able to be registered or sold, and that comes back to the original issue of the govt not wanting to have to compensate dealers for unsold stocks.

In PRs shoes I would have said, 'no sales Thursday, we are regging all these guns as long as the system stays functional", but they seem to have all their poop together and function without sleep, so power to them.

Hopefully it was for naught (guns still getting put thru) but its better to have it done and less stress.

We shall see in a bit when PR tries to put one through the system. I'm guessing its a wrangler...

My sister works in the media ('reporter' for black press). Its 99% click and paste or taking a national media supplied story(reuters or ap) and changing the byline. Anything like this gets written once and spread through the system on all platforms. And are almost always written by lobby groups. The CFR could do the same thing if they wanted.

Thanks for the info! Much appreciate it!

I haven't shot a 45acp in over a decade. But it will be one of my go to calibers, so I need to panic buy some 45ACP pistols. I can't just shoot one 45 ACP pistol for the rest of my life. lol

It should be a crime to own 45acp pistols and not have at least one if them be a 1911. Just saying... Hopefully the taurus (tauruses? taurusi?) that PR just sold out of all find good homes
