yesterday I shot a pair of M44s, and was impressed with them. It got me thinking that i should dig out some other carbines and see how they do.
I found a Columbian mauser in 30-06 with a very short barrel. Guessing around 18" and nine jungle carbines, plus an EAL and a #4 sporter.
These are being cleaned now and screws torqued, etc.
But one of the Jungle carbines has a problem. Years ago I took the rear sight off to install a no-gunsmithing scope base. I found the rear sight, in the bin where it should have been, but cannot find the spring loaded riser, the spring, the cross pin and the tiny retainer pin. Maybe they got used in another project.
Anyone got these bits?
I also note that one of the Jungle carbines is missing the top wood, which is different than #4 wood. What are the chances some one has that in their junk bin?
