I have a good old henry golden boy my dad bought me about 15 years or so ago. No clue how many rounds I and others have put through it but my best guess would be somewhere around 8-10k. Rifle is very smooth, tight and fairly accurate. The only complain I have is that the wood is incredibly soft. I have 4 other Henry rifles. All of them are reliable, accurate and very smooth. I had one Winchester 94 in 30-30 that's been great too. I can't speak to browning's.

Probably should have picked up a BL22 (just because) when they were inexpensive...
- The only things that bugs me about them is the rear sight. Seems they it was always folding on its own accord... just can be annoying if you want to take a quick shot at a game... also when cleaning it and putting it back together, I seem to recall parts not wanting stay put while getting the slide back into the action (but that's probably just me )

The short-throw lever is nice, it's also pretty light. 5lbs VS the 6.5lbs of a 39A or the 6lbs of a 9422/39M

Hey sillymike-question.. Is that a tired sight, or a relatively new one? The old BL-22 I have=sight was floppy when I got it, so I ordered a replacement. I've never drifted a rear sight out before I don't think, not complicated but not eager to do it until I can get the rifle outside to test if I've got it centered.

There is a very small spring in that sight I think, holds the sight up or down I think. I checked to see if that could be ordered on it's own...but no dice.

In hindsight, it was probably a tired spring... It was a 90s rifle that I got to "borrow" for a few weeks. At that time, I had just assumed that it was a know problem with them, since a family member with a 70s BL22 was reporting the same issue.
- Hunting with him, he'd gotten into the habit of holding the sight up with the side of his left thumb.

I've been rocking a Henry H001T with the longer barrel for a year and some now and I've been loving it. Can't say I'm too big a fan of the long lever throw (Grew up shooting a BL22) but they perform pretty damn well all things considered. Going to be a nice trainer for my nephews since it matches up quite well with my Rossi R92.

I bought a henry H0001 about 10 years ago. I wore out the the shelf on the bolt where the lever indexes at about 12,000 is rounds causing the bolt to be out of battery causing casing ruptures. I had it welded and re fitted. Shot the barrel out at 14,000 ish and eventually broke the fireing pin after dry fireing about 150 times. I bought a new one two years ago and it's not as accurate as my old one was. Round count may be higher, id typically fill an ammo can with 3000 rounds and shoot that off in 2 days then id go get more so the count may be much higher as im counting howmany times i can remember filling that ammo can. Overall it was verry reliable and i cleaned the action once just because i wanted to take it apart. 20200525_130038.jpg20200525_134244_resized.jpg
