protecting interest when buying/selling

I've done a few transactions here for many many thousands. I will never initiate a transfer without payment, that is unless you are someone I know or now consider a friend. I myself have a $1500.00 buy on going but do not expect the buyer to start anything until I pay in full. There is also a good Karma aspect to dealing here, I for one will refund a buyer their money if they are unhappy for any reason, I also can't count how much stuff I have sent out to members for free and I have always had the same consideration in return and for that I am very grateful. Tj, my advice is for you to build up your rating brother, because when my 6921 comes up for sale...No money No transfer.:D

so in general, what is considered a good rating?

I had a couple of "spf" deals on a Colt I was selling, but had the deal fall through when the "deposit" never came or the buyer "needed a reduced price due to a last min emergency on their side". Both these came from someone with a higher rating than me...

in general, it is a communication thing for both sides - for me anyways.

There are three elements in the deal. The transfer, the funds and the gun. As long as one person doesn't have all three at the same time there is protection for both sides.

There is no way I'm going to transfer money to someone without having either the gun or the transfer completed. If I miss a deal as a result I'll live with it.

makes sense
