Hi guys,

(I posted this on Page 5 of another thread last night, but this idea deserves its own thread.)

So last night I sat out on the front deck and tried the simple "tape the two LAR mags bottom-to-bottom" experiment. Always wondered about that ...

Went slow. Some strategically-placed taped-in thin wood wedges from a wooden clothespin ... lots of quality 3M clear duct-tape ... later (tomorrow) some flat-black stove paint ... not bad so far... rock solid.

But the "bottom end" of the arrangement (feeding lips and ammo on the inverted magazine) was obviously subject to dirt and prangs and abuse (as many have noted) ... and looked goofy.

Hmmm ... inspiration ... go to the medicine cabinet and look around ... take out the value-sized translucent Arm & Hammer deodorant cap (from a new unopened stick) ... remove peel-off sticker ... boil for a few minutes to soften it for a while ... like you would a plastic hockey mouth-guard ...

Custom (well, 97%) friction-fit!!! The oval shape becomes almost rectangular ... it looks almost factory-spec.

Pops-off-easily with a mild-tug ... protects (ahem) delicate parts ... easily replaceable ... option to cover in black tape.

Damn ... I am smart.

No kidding, try it just as a basic magazine-protector. Plus ... you'll probably smell better because you won't be skimping with the deodorant. Gotta love that baking-soda angle ...

Moi aussi!

Hey, thank you for the info, and for not being sarcastic ...
I've bought several items from Marstar (including a 1911 and some extra .45 magazines and three LAR-15 magazines) ... and somehow I never noticed those dust-cover thingies ...

Are they recent? Or did I just overlook them?

We are all now more knowledgeable. Thank you again.

(A 100% fit is better than a 97% fit :))

Now ... I just have to "get my head around" that outrageous price!!

TT might want to include one with that awesone CNC coupler and charge ... hmmm ... maybe $59.95 :)
