I am super proud to own this rifle.. in 2004 I saw one of these.. and thought I have to get my PAL.. so I took the course.. by the time I received my PAL, My horizons had expanded through research… and this rifle was but on the back burner and almost forgotten.. thanks to the, importation of russian M38's and M44"s.. it dawned on me how I became interested in firearms.. And the search was on. Thanks to a very fine CGN, I landed this rifle this week.Being of Polish decent 3 generations back, it only made sense to have one.

I also posted the same pics in May Purchases in the Milsurp forum…. is it a Milsurp or a Red rifle..or both.. so I apologize for that in advance.

Congrats, and yes I too am of Polish decent. I have two of these rifles and I love them! What year did you get?

Nice looking rifle..shiny bolt handle etc.. Gonna fire my Polish M44 this weekend but it doesnt look anywhere close to your beauty. It prob looked like yours when my buddy bought it new many yrs ago but it was abused..stock cracked..bolt handle rusted and pitted..both fixed recently now that I own it.

Nice! You'll enjoy the bruising they give ya. Wish I had a matching bayo for mine had to get a generic/Russian one on eBay to harmonize the barrel. Mines a 53 and I have a 53 Polish TT33 to keep it company.

Hint, if you get a spare butt plate and epoxy on a chunk of a flip flop you can increase your shooting time/round count.

I have a slip on recoil pad on one of my M38s. I may actually just put it in a AA stock for the aspect of having lop adjustment, detach 10Rd mag and better recoil pad.

Damn,

That's what I have been looking to buy for the last couple of months, a pristine condition Polish M44.

Let me know if you see anymore for sale.

I just placed a WTB add in EE for mint polish m44… The right guy saw my add at the right time, I guess… add wasn't even listed for more then 24hrs.

Very nice,
I'm sure you'll be happy with it. What year?
I have a '55 that looks like the twin to yours. When I did my detail strip everything was still covered in Cosmo, just the surface had been wiped down. I'm sure it had been shot before I got it, but I worried because the action was loose in the stock. Turns out everything mounting the action was only finger tight, even the cross bolt. I wonder if this is how Radom left them when they went to storage? I suspect the previous owner had disappointing accuracy! Once she was cleaned up & reassembled it was range time. Accuracy with the iron was amazing, only took 2 shots @ 50 yards before moving out to 100 & 200. Best groups I ever shot with irons & Bulgarian surplus ammo.
Hope you have the same luck. Don't forget your hearing protection & shoot at dusk for the full effect of this thunder & lightning stick.
