Proud owner of a M70 - 375 H&H

I will have to agree with 375 H&H's normaly being too heavy. Mine is a Win M70 Stainless Synthetic. A little on the heavy side for a true all round rifle, which is what the H&H is realy capable of.

FWIW I have a 9.3x64Brenneke, built on a 98 action with a 22'bbl and Buttler Creek stock. Weight wise it is about right for carring around all the time, recoil wise it is just fine.

There is no reason to make them heavy.

That is one very nice combination! I owned the same rifle a while back. It was excellent and shot ragged holes, so I sold it.:bangHead: :bangHead:

I have a 1X4 Leupold on a Mauser 98 458 Win that is just right for 375, 416, 458... You did well and set the rifle up just right, IMO.

It's a pushfeed...yeah, I know, I might as well be bear poop right now...

She weighs in at a whalloping 9.5 lbs, My M695 Whitetail Hunter in .338WM is a close second at 9.0 lbs (scope and all for both rifles). Here's a couple of pictures. I think I'm going to go out and do some more ventilating today.

Bet you guys will never guess what the hide is....give it your best boys & girls.

In my estimation that is pretty much what a .375H&H ought to look like.
I think somewhere between 8.5-9lbs is about right (loaded with scope).

As a comparison my .338WM M-700 = 7lbs 12oz including scope, empty.

With the board going down for maintenance pretty soon (I imagine midnite) I'll give up the hide quiz. It's what was termed as a beeffalo. A cross between a bison and a blonde acquitaine (moomoo cow). My wife's uncle dabbled in the cross-breeding program, but it never caught on. Have fun during the downtime you guys, play safe.
