I did a search, and as usual got no results, so....

I need some proven loads for my M-14. I have a shoot this weekend and haven't had time to prove any myself. I need a good mix for 150 or 165 gr. .308 win. that will function in the M-14. I have a decent selection of powder, so I should be good for at least some of the loads.
Thanks for the help.

mmmm. Pretty sure I have some 4895 if it's not all in 30.06......
Any others so I have a bit of a selection?

Varget is pretty good although some people think it's a touch fast for a gas gun. Some people even say the same about RL15 even tho it's slower than varget on most burn rate charts I've seen.

These are all suggested powders from m14tfl:

4064
Varget
H-4895 , H335 , H-322 , H-380
IMR-4895
Reloader 15 & 19
AA-2495BR
BLC-2
WC-846

Varget it a little too fast for an M-14. The standard match load for M-14's has been 41 grains of IMR 4064 under a 168 grain Sierra Boat Tail Hollow Point Match bullet, # 2200. This has been the load for about 50 years or so, works well in my 3 guns!

Just wondering, not trying to be a jacka$$, but when you did your search did you change the section from one week and newer to 36 months and newer? Alot of people complain about ending up with no results since the site upgrade and I suspect this is likely the reason.

I've shot this one with good result.

150 grain Hornady partition
IMR 4895 40.0 grains
Winchester primers
Winchester brass

This one I just made (used a manual as a guide) and will be shooting in a week hopefully.

155 grain Sierra Match King
IMR 4895 42.0 grains
Winchester primer
Winchester brass

thats true, this topic comes out at least once every two weeks, just in my favorites I got 5 links, then I just stopped, it gets redundant

Yeah, that could be the problem. I'm not exactly a computer genius.:)
Sorry if it's a repost, but thanks for the data. Looks like IMR 4895 and H-335 are my best bets. If I actually get time to load some up and not end up buying some cheapees I'll let you know how things go.

If you guys are interested--

I managed to find time to load up 20 rnds of 43.0 gr. of H-335 with a 150gr. bullet.
They hit skeet and plate at 200 yards.
Shortly after the gun overheated and I wasn't hitting squat. That was after about 60 rounds semi-rapid fire.
