I hate restrictions that's why only my handguns are restricted and every thing else I own is not.
To go and risk a stunt like that it's just not worth your while. I know it sounds silly to charge some one over a couple of inches of barrel or the shape of the gun but it isn't worth the up hill battle.

Canada has many times let criminals off in exchange for testimony against legal gun owners for firearm offenses. Just keep that in mind.
That said I have never been bothered when out somewhere no easily accessed.
I did have 2 RCMP roll up on me in a field that was off a highway though, apparently they had several calls about a sniper trying to shoot cars... Both cars came down the highway full out almost missing the access to the field. I was eating sitting in the hatch part of my jeep with a buddy. Apparently laying in the shade from my jeep people thought I was shooting cars... cops were pretty good about it, both were kind of chuckling when they got out of the cars. One even stayed a few minutes and shot a couple gophers trying out our rifles. Then he suggested a different field for us to shoot in that was less visible. But said he couldn't make us leave.
I so want to blast a gopher with a 5.7. lol
