PS90 with CMMG barrel & flash hider

Just got this little beastie back from the gunsmith! CMMG 10.3" barrel 1/9 twist with a CMMG FNH style flash hider 12x1 metric lh. Ian over at Herron arms did it for me as I was too scared to crack the receiver =) Can't wait to shoot it!

I deleted the background abit, hope it didn't take away from the image.

Did you get the barrel from questar? I was thinking of getting a PS-90 and doing the barrel swap as well. If only we could shoot these things out in the bush, they would be perfect truck gun for grouse since they are so small.

Questar brought in the barrel and flashhider and sold them as a pkg. Not sure if he has any left. I know Herron Arms did a few other ps90's and made his own barrels for them. I wanted the CMMG barrel because of the brand name i guess... I called CMMG and was told they did not deal with the public up here, but that they did work with Questar... not sure what'll happen now...
 
Question for you PS20 owners. What do the markings on the gun say? Are they made in Belgium? Any European-style proof marks on the barrel or anywhere else?

i realize that even if something's illegal, there still may be loopholes and the likes, that's what i was looking to find out because to the best of my knowledge i wasn't aware that they even sold such short barrels and that the civvi versions of the P90 (being the PS90) were only being sold with the stupid looking long-ass barrels.
 
There is NO SUCH THING AS A LOOPHOLE. They make the laws, and we have to work within those laws. Calling something a loophole is kind of leading in that we are doing something wrong. We are in fact no doing anything WRONG at all by being well versed with and being in strict accordance with the laws, no matter how bad we think those laws are. It is not the law-abiding gun owner that ever breaks the law, only criminals, which is why firearms laws will only and can ever only affect the law-abiding. Gun laws by their nature can NEVER affect the criminal. So we must through out this term that gets used on here, LOOPHOLE. Just like we have thrown out the term HIGH CAPACITY magazine and returned to the proper term of NORMAL CAPACITY magazine.

PS90's come from the US, US restrictions make the (Non NFA) PS90's have to have a 16+ inch barrel.

Nothing prevents you from putting a factory 10.3" barrel on the PS90 in Canada, in the US you need a Form 1 to create or Form 4 to transfer. (You basically register the receiver to make a NFA firearm, in this case a SBR)

You cannot just cut down the factory 16" barrel in Canada to 10.3" like you can in the US. You need to buy / [ or machine from blank] a barrel of said length.

You are not changing the class of the PS90 as it is already restricted.

aha, thanks, that what i was looking for. sorry about the use of the word "loophole" im not to versed on gun laws, partially because every time i look something up, i always encounter conflicting info and i don't know what to believe nemore AND also because being in the army, we don't have to tangle with all the different laws..... (well not civvy gun laws neways *cough* geneva convention)

Hey Opar, just curious, but why do you have your Eotech so far up front? I'd be worried about muzzle blast burning your optic. Do you find you can't focus if it's farther back? Be sure to post a range report. I'm not knocking your setup, just curious cuz I haven't set mine up yet.

unless he's throwing a magnifier on that bad boy, which IMO, would be pretty bad-ass

Opar, hows the sight picture with the EoTech on that trail. Seems kinda high, do you get a cheek weld at all? Perhaps a T1 in a low pro mount or a Dr Optic would get it down a bit more and "un bulkify" it.

I've been wondering that too. Mine's the "standard" model and the top rail seems even higher. Definitely going to affect choice of optics.

hehe. dont let the boys get to your goat. it is just sometimes monotonous, getting the people, who obviously dont know the lingo, on board. kinda like calling an ar-15 an a$$ault rifle. lots of people do it, but it is wrong and contrary to what firearm owners should be doing. hang here long enough, and you will be "corrected" into conformity! but it is only because we care! ha! :welcome: to the gunnutz forum/minefield......oh crap can i say minefield??? f:P:
