I put it forward because of the height. I had a guy help me sight in the EoTech with a few rds late last year and i'm about to put 100 rds through as soon as it warms up again. ... i'm no pro when it comes to figuring stuff out as I'm still pretty new. I think you are correct about a T1 micro or other lower profile optic... still nice to have the xps though, gives me an excuse to pick up another firearm... my wife won't know it'd be silly to throw it on a SAPR would she?

I got to scrape up some ammo for it first, pretty scarce. I've decided after looking at fnforum.net that I want a smith to install my new barrel as well. I don't want to risk breaking it. I picked up some extended bolt handles and other goodies, so I'll post pics when it's done.
Questar sells a good one with a forward sling mount. FN made. I don't know if they have any in stock.
