Another ar ak mutant!!! Is this what irunguns was hinting at? Seems like it could be a better choice over the cmmg. What are the pro nutz thinking?

All about what the receiver was designed as. Not modified in to. All about production intent. In the opinion of the lab anyways.

I don't understand why the Mutant is a AR variant. It has a different upper and lower that is not interchangeable with an AR.

Based on looks and the video, it appears as if the PSA offering uses a regular AR15 7.62x39-bolt/carrier/upper versus the CMMG which has an oversized bolt/carrier/upper to accommodate the fatter x39 case.

The bolt on the PSA is 9310 steel, so they are obviously going with a tougher material to prevent it from cracking like a lot of the standard AR15 bolt heads made to fit the x39.

But the CMMG Mutant I think has the edge in durability being a shorter .308 sized gun.

The PSA has the edge in modular design as it uses a standard AR15 upper group.

It looks cool, but it doesn't have the beefed up bolt that the mutant has. The only thing this has over to mutant is the ability to take standard AR15 charging handles.

I would be curious to know if the mags could be mag-locked on this rifle and if so, how easy would it be to fix it.

I'd be more interested in a 5.45x39 version; assuming Canada ammo could get the cheap 7n6 ammo.
