A little while ago, a box containing 400pcs of Starline 45LC Blank cases was stolen from CanadaPost while in transit. The package has been confirmed lost by CanadaPost and last tracked at the Etobicoke sorting facility when it disappeared.

If you happen to purchase Starline 45LC brass from someone, PLEASE pay attention to the headstamp! If it is stamped Blank, according to Starline, do NOT use these to reload regular ammo. These have enlarged flash holes which can lead to unreliable powder ignition, spike in pressures and/or possible explosion.

To the person who stole it, feel free to load up to the max.

I had my drivers license stolen several years ago. An organised group at the Hamilton sorting facility was targeting Government correspondence. My friend is the manager of the local services Center.... She told me what had happened, the provincial corporation responsible for licenses said nothing.....hundreds were stolen!

Yes, occasionally postal employees go to the "dark side" Here in PG, we had someone who was getting away with
the odd parcel.

I had a rifle shipped from Calgary....it showed as delivered on the tracking site, but I was home, in my front yard
at the time, and certainly no parcel showed up at my door.
An inquiry from the sender's end did not resolve the issue, and the RCMP were not interested, viewing it as lost mail.

Fortunately, the gunnut at the other end reimbursed me...a very fine gesture, since he was not obligated.

I have watched locally to see if it might appear somewhere [It had a distinctive grain pattern on the stock], but no luck.

Remember to always ship firearms insured, and with a signature required...not foolproof, but makes it a little less attractive to
the scumbags. Regards, Dave.

I had an STI Trojan in .45 "lost" by them last year!! It was going to Toronto, so apparently the RCMP couldn't help (Im in BC)I called the OPP and talked to a very understanding officer there. They actually managed to track the Canada Post employee/thief down! Aaaaand! Got the gun to the new/rightful owner! Talk about a miracle!

Oh! And I insured it for $900 (what I sold it for) and Canada Post offered to reimburse me the postage! ... The look on the girls faces at the post office when I said "well, I'll have to call the cops now, cause you guys managed to lose a .45 caliber handgun" was fvckin priceless! They became very engaged after that. Still only offered me postage though. What is the point in their insurance I wonder... Other than to just charge more...? I feel large insurance is just a big neon sign on the package saying "steal me" to their criminally inclined employees.

That said, I really like the ladies at the post office where I live now. They are used to guns and aren't antis. Quite nice.

Signature required means nothing to Canada Post. I had a parcel delivered that was marked:
Signature Required and Do Not Safe Drop left on my door step. My girlfriend was home the whole day.
The door bell never rang. The parcel was worth $2200.00, fortunately it was still there when I got home from work.

A couple of years ago I bought a Glock from a gunnut in BC. I tracked it as best I could (CP tracking really blows) and saw that on day X it was “out for delivery” so I knew it was on the way to me. I have a group mailbox on my circle and I watched from my upstairs bathroom window as the mailman drove up to the group box, sorted the mail into it and drove away. I walked out to the box to find a slip that said “Attempted Delivery”. The lazy SOB wouldn`t even drive the 100 feet to my house. I had to eventually drive to the local postal outlet to pick up the package. I called Canada Post to complain and they said they would “look into it” (CP speak for "eff off").

Now I notice the insurance charge per $100 has basically doubled (used to be $1/$100 only a couple years ago). Essentially they are now gouging us double because they employ a bunch of crooks.

I had many bad experiences with Canada Post. From the usual claims that I was not home when the mailman knocked on my door to lost packages. Never lost a firearm tho and the stories I read here are scary.
There is any way that is 100% safe to mail a firearm? If there is it should be a sticky post so people can follow the right way.
How about FedEx? Is it safer beside expensive?
