Went to a club here in Montreal (who I won't name, because.......infractions) and asked if they had any Sig P229 mags.

Salesperson told me "the Sig 229 is illegal to own in Canada"

I explained the Pinocchio barrel ours come with make it legal, and that this very same club has sold them to the public whenever they had them in stock.

He was adamant.

So there you go. All us Sig 229 owners are evidently criminals. Dirty, dirty, criminals.
 
The standard length is also legal if you have 12-6. Don't know if any were imported with the short barrel before the law came into effect, though.

Why is it that some of the most gun ignorant people work at ranges and gun stores?
 
Why. I think these people like to show others how much knowledge and authority they have. I went in to buy a Remington new army. I was told that's not what it's called. They called it a 1858,that's what it's registered as that's what we call it. He still argued when I told him it's full name. He has been there for over 6 years. Also my guest has to pay 15 to use range. Platinum membership,its free second guest pays. How can they not know their own rules. I find it amazing that someone can work around guns and not know what they are talking about. I guess that's why they get paid a low wage working retail. Someone like myself they can't afford. I told one shop when they tried to hire me I wanted 40 , said starting was 12.50. Way below what I now make. You pay your money and you get what you paid for and nothing more. The most knowledge and best customer service comes from the small guy. Prices probably higher but to deal with you don't need to worry about amigrain.
