hey Guys/Gals i just put a PTG Assembly on my 700ti... I bedded the rifle and did some stock work also, anyway I put the scope back on took it out to the range and well things are not good, I was set up pretty well and this gun used to shoot 1-2" groups. It is now shooting strings to the right, they are all in the same plane but spread out right of bull.....The only thing I really noticed as did another friend at the range was the trigger seemed VERY hard and I began to think I was pulling the shots due to the HARD trigger pull.

So I ASSume it is totally reasonable that changing the firing pin assembly will effect the way the sear releases the pin, because those parts are not the same...is that a correct assumption?? I looked online everywhere and didn't seem to be able to find anyone having trigger issues after changing these parts out??

first of all, beautiful rifle!

I noticed a slight change in trigger pull when I replaced my j-lock fp with a ptg fp as well. I didn't notice it increased a lot, but there was a noticeable change. I re-adjusted my trigger and everything is good now.

Most likely the barrel is touching the stock, but a heavy trigger won't help.
Firing pin springs are about lock time. You change anything else in the trigger group? Like na1lb0hm says, re-adjust the trigger. You have trigger pull gauge? They're not terribly expensive, but a fish scale will do. They look very similar.

yes i can get a gauge no problem. The barrel is not contacting anything any more. I did a very light Devcon bed on just the recoil lug ( there was tons of room in there) and I shaved down the 2 tabs inside the fore stock that were contacting the barrel. I will try the trigger first then maybe try contacting the barrel again if that is unsuccessful?

You changed a lot of things all at once... you will have to work a new load up and may have to redo the forend pressure if you can't get your accuracy back.

Changing the firing pin assembly(or just the cocking piece) can change the trigger pull.

Each to his own but those red pieces are butt ugly.

ok so there a bit over the top ;) does that mean you wont do a trigger job for me Dennis ??

Im just shooting Remington Yellow box crap cause I bought 8 boxes of it 70% off... just going through it for the brass

lol... I am closed for the summer...golf, motorcycle, camping , house and yard work... back working after October 15...

Did you remove the trigger group from the action just prior to experiencing a heavy trigger pull?

Adequate room between the trigger and that fancy red trigger guard "slot"? Otherwise a problem with the fit of your new striker

there is good room there... the part the trigger releases, the steel piece that has the grooves in it.. the one you need to pull against spring tension to unscrew the bolt ( no idea of the name) if that profile is not the exact same wouldn't that also cause a different release?? I haven't done anything yet work all weekend.

If either or both the spring tension or the angle of the cocking piece is different the trigger weight will change.
