ptg or williams bottom metal?

have any of you got either the ptg bdl style bottom metal or the williams bdl style bottom metal and what are your thoughts? i am looking at both and cant make my mind up on which one to go with for a upcoming build. i dont want a big box mag hanging out below, so i am looking at a bdl style mag for a rem 700 long action.

I have both siting in a drawer for reference. The Williams is nice but a USA customer could not even get 500/year for his guns, let alone export. Get what you can, in use there is no difference.
 
I looked a Williams and didn't see anything special....Try to get one!

I went with Sunny Hill....Too bad that they have the worlds poorest website.
I have it on 3 different rifles heavy target rifles and 3 hunting rifles.
The quality is bank vault superb and the look is fantastic.

Not cheap, but your getting (most) of what you are paying for and you can actually get them.
 
I have a number of the Williams ones on a few of mine. Fantastic stuff! Makes the Remington factory look like crap, but the Williams will be heavier if weight is an issue. Are you guys^^^^ implying that they are hard to get now? I ordered all mine directly from Williams with no hassle, but that was a year or 2 ago. I have a spare blued short action one sitting on my shelf right now. PM me if interested.
 
I've owned and used both... They're both good to go, just know that the Williams is not a drop in fit if your stock is inletted for Remington OEM. My latest purchase was a PTG in stainless (as that's what I was looking for). Drops into my my McMillan stock (inletted for Remington OEM BDL bottom metal) as if they were "born" together...

well i have received my rem 700 long action bottom metal in steel yesterday and it looks good, except it is missing the latch assembly and the front pin that is right behind the front action bolt hole?@#$ has anyone ordered one and this is missing as well?:confused:
 
well i phoned them today and they are going to send the parts out to me asap! plus another part which i ordered was the wrong color so they are going to send me the right color one no charge! good service from this company!!
