Wartime PU can probably be found, also Westrifle have new production PU made in russia, work like the original but the finish might be different. Original can be found on Ebay but you must be careful, sometimes sellers sell scope that are supposed to be original but in fact they are repro. Repro from ukraine are available on ebay too, they are faithfull copy in every way, all blued steel. You may place a WTB on the EE, you may find something. Can othentic vintage PU scopes be found in Canada? If not what are some of the good reproductions? If you have a reproduction, how faithfull are they to the originals?
You get what you pay for.My Mosin PU was $450.00 in '85.Translate that into 2012 dollars and you can see the difference in value.Would I ever sell it?Not a chance,You cannot buy a sniper in as nice a shape as this one.I worked for over a month to afford to buy it.Today if it was the same price it would take less than 2 day's wages to buy it.
Funny how 27 years can make a difference.Go back 50 years and there were the $14.95 pickle barrels of #5 enfields and the $149.95 #4 T sniper rifles
