public hunting areas in lower mainland

Hey fellow gun nutz! As many of you waterfowlers are aware canada geese open up next week and this is my first time going waterfowl hunting. Was wondering if anyone out there knows of any public areas to go for geese. I dont have access to a boat or a game dog which really lowers my options a fair bit. Everyone i talk to says Westham Island in ladner but had difficulty gaining permission. Any other areas out there?

Also according to the regulations page there, a lot of Abbotsford farm land is open to discharge of firearms as well tho it is pretty much all private land.

I used to live in Pitt and during the hunting season I'd see hunters out all the time getting some good kills, funny seeing the random scared idiot who has no idea you are allowed to hunt there screaming they are going to call the police cause shooting guns is illegal bla bla bla.

I would have to gain permission from the farmers tho to hunt the land no?

Yes you would, but the upper Pitt Meadows wildlife management area needs no permission, just look out for others and be respectful of the land. Also the Dykes do not require permission as it is crown/city whatever land, just watch the signs so you know the boundaries.
