Public lands

Two things you need to do:

1- head further north for good hunting......

2- start knocking on doors, politely asking for permission and offering to exchange some work for hunting land......

You live in Canada's second biggest metropolis....... Expecting to hunt nearby is a pipe dream.....
Buy a county map for each area hunting [in Alberta] if available gives notice of property actually living on. Here allowed to hunt without authority if it is not fenced or signed plus helps keeping shots outside 200 m from any residence.

That's a pretty ignorant comment even for this forum.

OP's attitude needs correcting, but he's also reaching out to fellow Canadians in his newly adopted homeland. Great opportunity to educate and welcome another into the fold.

Regardless, "p.o.ed" goes on a rant and then disappears into the sunset.
I don't know where he came from but even us residents don't always find everything we would like and it was never handed out on a silver platter.

If he felt the need to move to Canada, and hunting was a main driver (as it should be, we have some of the best if not the best in the world), he should have done his research.......

You can't expect to move to VI and get readily available access........ Any more than you can expect to move to the GTA and get the same......

Regardless, I can assure anyone that his hunting opportunities are far greater here than what they were "back home"..... Unless he is into exotic sheep....... Which is expensive in and of itself no matter where you go.....
