After reading the other thread I thought I would start a thread to see the % relation to hunting public land or private.I know there will probably be differences to deer, bear, moose, elk.Should be interesting.
I hunted deer/elk for 24 years on public land (crown,WMA,Community pastures) in 2007 I found a 1/4 section that was relatively cheap and picked it up.I have gotten to know some of the land owners up there and gained entry for elk hunting which you may get drawn every 4-5 years.
If you ever get the chance to find relatively cheap hunting land that won't break the bank and serve your purposes.......Go for it!!!

I hunt almost all on Crown land. I do a little hunting on the family farm, more like pest control then hunting.

And a little trapping which is all pest control on private land but thats not your question :D

Our moose camp is a 4 hour quad ride this time of year and two hours in Nov when the ground is frozen. I'll point out, quad only-no trucks.

There are other people who hunt there, but none camp-so they have to be on their quads awfully early to beat me to the honey hole. Lots of other places to hunt, but I make an effort to get to my hole first.

Not many are willing to camp in Nov, makes hunting teritory a lot easier to find.
