Pulsar® N550 NV scope???

The boys over here rave about them. If you get one, make sure you get the IR laser L-808 , an extra 200 i think. Also there is an aftermarket lens conversion kit called Dr Bobs that cranks up the magnification to x 7.65.

This kit puts Gen 2 night optics in an affordable price bracket.

Interesting indeed! I like that's it's a Night/Day system. That's handy for both sighting and general use.

Will definitely have to look into the mag increase device!

Thanks

EDIT
As this product contains a lens designed for use on Gen 2+ Night Vision we CANNOT export the Dr Bob Kit outside the UK.

Damn export laws!

Hi,

Just to be clear, the N550 is not a dedicated night vision optic. It is digital, much like a camera, as such it can be used both in daytime and at night. The Gen 1, Gen 2 and above are all dedicated night vision.

My comment was that in comparision to a Gen 2 unit the N550 is not bad. Opinions vary greatly, just go to any of the optics websites !!, but until Gen 1 or Gen 2 prices come down, the N550 has a niche.

All of these systems are legal here, But sorry I really couldn't help you with the canadian regs,

good luck in finding what you need !

Yes I understand it's not a true "night vision" but like you said for the price point it has it's niche.

I did find a few dealers in Canada that have them... but of course marked up to $2000+... might as well just get a true NV system for that price!
