funny-obviously a 22 pump was poplular one time, but even Henry ceased production of their pump.Tarus as well.Maybe the semi autos While bolt actions will always be there-the semi auto seems to take over everything else.Funny-I would have thought a pump would be a very practical alternative plus being less complicated and with fewer jamming problems .

I have a Browning pump in a 22WMR and it never jammed on me. It is a very accurate and fun shooting gun. However, I wouldn't say it is less complicated then a semi-auto. Mine has a lot of moving parts....... I wouldn't want to take it apart.

I think the main reason pump .22s aren't very common anymore is the cost of manufacture compared to a semi auto. My Winchester Model 62A has quite a few more parts than my Ruger 10/22; mostly forgings and machined parts.

The lack of a locked breech makes most .22 semis fairly simple designs.

I totally agree. Pump 22's should be uber popular. The Rem 572 is a great 22. Its very easy to strip, very reliable and they have a tendency toward accuracy.

To me anyways and I own both pump and semi auto 22's is that the pump action just feels more wholesome.

Long live the pump.

Well these just doesn't seem to be much demand for them-Henry pulled their pump from production-I never shot one but it seemed to be a fine looking rifle-walnut stock and octagon barrel.Don't know how accurate the were or if they had problems ,but they obviously didn't sell.My favourite and most accurate 22 is my BRNO, but I've got various cooeys, marlins and a CIL,but never had a pump

Even as cheap as .22 ammo is I find with a semi all I want to do is see how fast I can empty that mag. With my Browning pump I find I take more time and make sure of my shot. I love my pump and will be soon passing it on to my daughter and then to my son. It is a great first .22 for kids. Nice and light, VERY acuate.

The pump is in the catalog I received directly from Henry 2 weeks ago. So, I'm guessing the pump has not been discontinued.

pump 22

I also have a pump 22 made by Erma in Germany for iverjohnson in the US. I love shooting it and the action looks alot stronger than the remington . a buddy was helping me move my safe one day and I was;nt thinkin and it ended up with a scratch on the reciever . I;m not too impressed with that but what can you do . it still shoot;s great .
