This is the gun of which the Rossi is a copy. Browning Trombones are another nice old pump .22.

My choice for a new gun would be the Remington 572.

I'm an old school rimfire lad to, all Savage except for the Stevens visible loader on the bottom. You can still find the odd old Savage pumps around Canada for a decent price, unlike the nutty U.S. prices.

Not sure if your looking for new or used?

I had a nickel-plated Rossi with the 16" barrel, loved it! Lost it in a fire. It was super handy and decently accurate. Scope mounting was kind of a kludge tho.
The Henry looks the same; but with a grooved receiver.
I also have a Norinco EM321, it's pretty nice too. Bigger and a bit bulkier, with an internal hammer.

Pump

You guys are all forgetting one of the best .22 pumps ever built. The Browning Trombone as it was called. They are still one of the most accurate pump .22's I have ever shot. :)

I was talking the other day with the Browning Historian and I found out an interesting bit of history on the Trombone. He said just about all of them were shipped to Canada only 350 were sold in the US

I'm pretty sure that a lot more than 350 Browning Trombones were sold in the US, given that they were made for decades in large numbers.

i like the remington 572 good accurite gun

Accurate* gun it is! I bought mine around christmas time, great rifle.

Pros:
It shoots shorts, longs and long rifles - good capacity also
Full size stock
Really nice wood finish (can't remember the type)
accurate
quality made

Cons:
Too much fun :p;)

Is that a new tang mounted peep?
did you have to tap the tang for the top screw?

I ordered the Marble's tang sight from Doc Rowland. No drilling and tapping was required on my gun, but I think that some late production 62As don't have the second screw hole required to mount this sight.

the one i'm after is quiet a bit shorter that the one's pictered here,it had the name RUKO stamped on the barrel ,the tube mag was just as long as the barrel,it was very short and light
