pump 22's

Accurate* gun it is! I bought mine around christmas time, great rifle.

Pros:
It shoots shorts, longs and long rifles - good capacity also
Full size stock
Really nice wood finish (can't remember the type)
accurate
quality made

Cons:
Too much fun :p;)

I absolutely love my 572, the thing is a tack driver! Easy to find for a decent price as well.

I just ordered a 22 mag Henry pump with Octagon barel:)
I was going to go with a Lever action but after seeing the pump version i liked it better.

the one i'm after is quiet a bit shorter that the one's pictered here,it had the name RUKO stamped on the barrel ,the tube mag was just as long as the barrel,it was very short and light

You are describing one of the Rossi pumps. It was the Winchester copy but with a 16" (or maybe it was 16.5") barrel.
I had one too, they were (are?) available in blue or nickel plate. I had the nickel one.

Anyone here have an opinion of the Taurus 62C? Almost bought one of them a couple of years ago, a Winchester copy

Held one down in S. Carolina a few years back, really liked the feel of it. With the shorter barrel, it has the look of a mini 12 ga. pump!

I really, really like my octagonal barrel Henry. My wife bought it for me as an anniversary gift last year. It is a hoot to spend an afternoon with, tromping around in the bush, with a pocket full of bullets. Squirrels beware!

Pump

I would love to own a pump .22 that I could plink with or do some general small game hunting. The Remington 572 Fieldmaster looked like a nice option until I saw that they now added that BDL high-comb stock. This stock is what they are putting on all their guns and to save a buck they threw it on the 572 Fieldmaster. The monte-carlo cheek rest is too high to use the factory open sights, crying a$$ shame and I wish Remington would give their head a shake!!!

How are the new Henry H003T with the octagonal barrel? They look like nice rifles and seem to have a good reputation. How is the quality of craftsmanship and the accuracy? Is there any rattles or loose parts that woud drive me crazy? I am a sucker for fit/finish and like my guns to be solid and accurate. Henry looks interesting, tell me more!!!

I have a 16" nickel plated Rossi pump that is a joy to shoot and carry, great accuracy also accepts shorts longs and long rifle shells. It's size also lends well to teaching kids and small stature adults to shoot. The Rossi is no longer made but i believe Taurus is now making the Rossi pump gun.

I like mine, but the pump is definitely not as smooth-actioned as the lever. I think this stems from the fact that they are nothing but a modified version of the pivoting lever action, operated via the slide with the external lever simply removed.

In this pic you can see they are the same (see pivot point of lever forward of trigger)

Other than the fact that they cheaped out when making the pump, I have no issues with them.
I think that anyone buying a Henry would do well to get a model with the upgraded sights, they are infinitely better than the base models.

I had a Model 06 Winchester that I was holding for family in Australia while they got their permits figured out.

I used it for one season of grouse hunting.

It's now down under being used to harvest bunnies, and wild cockatiels that are pillaging the wine grapes of their vineyard.

Pretty much the perfect .22 for me.

I have been trying to find another to replace it for some time now. :(
