Pump action for doubles

I'd like to ad that since posting on the thread earlier that I've shot aprox 7 more rounds of skeet and had some great advice from some experienced shooters and I'm happy to say that I've stopped shooting report doubles and scored a 20 and 22 yesterday.
Nothing wrong with a pump. I'm the only guy on the field with a camo 870 and I'm keeping up.

Funny story, one of the members at my club has made comments similar to the above over time until this past Saturday. He won a Benelli Nova at a shoot in the province, Monday decided to try his hand at it. He was heading out as I arrived at the club, saw him carrying the Nova, congratulated him on joining the dark side. He just laughed. I commented later to one of the other members on it and was told he wasn't sure what to make of it, apprently picked 2 targets a round shooting the pump over his O/U. I've said before and I'll say it again, Gun fit is king my friends, not action.

I have shot a lot of skeet at one time with an 870. Using a pump for the doubles targets at 1-2 and 6-7 is not in the least difficult with practice. I have a friend who has been shooting the same 870 TB Model on the skeet field for 35+ years and it is a joy to watch him.
Doubles trap on the other hand is different, mastering pumping the action while making the "U" to get to the second target for proper alignment can be challenging. Not undoable, just challenging. It's just practice, practice, practice........the other issue with doubles trap with a pump or even an auto for that matter is you only have one choke to shoot both targets........the first one being closer is usually best served a dose of lead via a more open pattern to allow the extra pattern size to help you.
