pump or auto for 3 gun?

When I handled the new Versamax Competition at SHOT, I saw that it has a flat lifter. I've asked the Remington Importer if I can buy the lifter and the extended bolt release for the competition for current Versamax owners and they say it's possible. It will be a little bit before the parts come in, but they are working on it for us.

That's great! If I didn't find a used Versa Max on the EE for such a great deal I would definitely have bought one from you. Great deal you have! Although I haven't been bit by my lifter yet I will be in for one of the ones when you get them.

My M4 works great. Even though its a 3" and not 3.5" I can still get six in the tube, one on the lifter, and one on the chamber. I find it faster and easier to shoot than a pump. Ghost loading is a neat feature and it has helped in stages that only require 8 or 9 rounds.

And then they tell you to start empty to begin the stage!!! ;)

I love this start condition. It makes me smile big. Know why?

Mag-fed semi-auto. Slap and go!

At some matches having a mag fed shotty will put you in "open" div.

Just keep that in mind when deciding what gun to buy.
Research the matches you plan on shooting. Look at the division rules.... THEN decide which division you want to shoot in and get yourself an appropriate thunder stick.

Sage advice.

A related questions, its been awhile since I went to an IPSC shotgun match,is 32 rnds still the max # of rounds for the long stage, or whats the common stage # of rounds, trying to figure how many caddies I need for . thanks

In my area, it would be all matches, due to 3GN rules.

To the OP, if budgets allows, get a semi-auto. You won't regret it. I started with a 870, it was fine, did the job, had fun. Next day, shopped for a semi.

Then figure out how you want to load and practice. I've been flip floping between weak and strong hand twins and quads. I'm equally slow at both, haha.
