I'm trying to get the wooden pump stock off my shotgun but there is a nut holding it on... Is there a special wrench available to get it off? I haven't been able to find one

I have no idea what your nut looks like but I'm guessing that if you were handy enough to make your own tool you wouldn't be asking so I'd suggest a quick trip to your local shop with a bench ( maybe call first and talk to the smith) or order one from Brownell's.

If it's a tool made for firearms that is still in production Brownell's probably sells it....

What does your nut look like? Can you post a picture?

Not sure what yours is like but the ring on my 870 is notched so an opened set of needle nosed pliers did the trick just fine, without any damage.

If you are old enough to remember the bicycle wrenches kids used to use you can make one very similar to the Brownell wrench. Requires some bending, sawing and filing at the end with the large nut opening. I made one 50 years ago and still use it.

The nut was really on there! 40 years of abuse I guess.

I'll post a pic of the finished product when I get a chance
