Hello everyone,

I have recently been able to secure some extra cash from the accountant (wife) and have my eye on a Dillon 650. I need your help in deciding who has the best prices. I am in Alberta so shipping will have to be accounted for. I know Dillon itself has good pricing but there is some concern regarding shipping, duty, so on. Anyone pick one of these up lately? Henry had them for a good price but he no longer deals with them. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I did do a search but most of the threads are old. I was hoping someone who recently purchased one could chime in.

I got my 650 last year through Murray Charlto Enterprises here on the Island. Just a great press, I've loaded about 8000 rounds on mine and just love it. Consider the strong mount depending on your bench height. I also recommend the roller handle as nearly essential. The Brian Enos forum is the go to place for Dillon related info and forum help, a great resource.

I tried ordering from Dillon earlier this year and there was a long wait. They likely have that cleared up by now. It was even hard enough at the time to get through to Dillon by phone...

To get a 650 at the time, I ended up buying the parts I wanted from different dealers - TSE for the actual press, Murray Gardner for a number of parts and Green Diamond in NB for other parts like primer tubes and a tumbler. And there are still a few things I would like to pick up at some point...

My suggestion would be to buy from your local dealer if they have what you need in stock and then look to other non local dealers and then Dillon for anything else you need as shipping can be high and the exchange rate is not quite as good as it was a few months back when buying from the US. Unfortunately I did not really have an option like you do as there are no Dillon dealers in NS.

Good luck!

As an FYI, a guy I shoot with ordered a 650 from Dillon a couple of years back and the shipping and handling to NS was over $250... Now it is further to NS than AB from AZ but gives you a bit of an idea. He ordered pretty much the complete setup.

If you are close to the border, shipping inside US may be quite reasonable, ~$25.

CUSTOM RELOADING IN MAPLE RIDGE has 8 of them in stock at present.
Most all other parts in stock.
the only items that are in short supply now is the case feeders.
Lots of dies and conversions.
take care and Happy Loading

That's how I ordered mine, strait from Dillon to Sweetgrass. Including dies, spare parts kit, 2 tool heads for 308 223. All for what I could buy just the press for in Canada, $400 savings. Paid gst on Canadian side.
