Purchased a brand new Mossberg 935, received this...

My issue isn't so much with timeline but how this whole process unfolded. I don't owe Mossberg a favourable opinion just because they did what was right. It took their Canadian warranty reps escalating this issue to get a satisfactory solution.

You've got one chance to make a first impression and Mossberg bears that weight. Now that could be Cabela's fault but I don't think I will ever get the full story so they both share the blame.

That is understandable on both fronts. Manufacturers dont ship out items in the condition you received it in. I have no doubt that Cabela’s handling of that gun is what should be suspect. Not just on its condition, but on so many other fronts. And the way they handled the situation was even worse.

As for the manufacturer. Anyone who has deal with other companies such as Beretta or Browning, are told to send the gun back for inspection. A quick google search will give you all the horror stories you’ll need to hear about what happens next. Unfortunately we get screwed up here in Canada with regards to firearms. Since Mossberg doesn't have a facility here in Canada, clearly they heavily depend on their licensed repair outlets to deal with issues. If they agreed to make it right based on just photos and no gun in hand, that has saved you a ton of time sending the gun in and waiting. This could very well be why they directed you to Wolverine instead of Grech Outdoors. You may not like the fact that they didn't stroke your john when it was clear thats what you wanted. But there is a lot more to be said about their ultimate response and outcome then what you would have received in 15 days from much larger firearm manufacturers.

Okay then. No need to be confrontational.

Here's maturity for you: I'm trying not to escalate by brushing off. But somehow you got to get your last word in by attacking me personally. People wonder why our community can't get it together. I'm older than you if you were born in '63 so relax.

My last warranty service with Stoeger took 6 months. But it was well communicated, they took care of ITAR stuff (gun had to be sent back to US), and didn't give me a runaround.

OP puts it best. It's not the elapsed time but how they handled. That alone is enough for me to stay away. You might feel different. Others too. But don't be labeling folks just because you feel offended.

IBTL? Lol.

1963 isn't my birth year, but thanks for trying

Glad you shared this experience with dealing with Stoeger Canada because this was the point I was eluding to. Some people need to get the warm and fuzzy sympathy talk. Others just want results. If I had a choice, I’d rather a quick resolution versus a 6 month stroking of the john

Thats the only point I’m trying to make. Again, to each their own
