Purchasing a new scope advise!!

Hey! my current scope on my .308 savage is a bushell legend 5-15x40 and i've finally decided to suck it up and buy something better. I've spent all day looking at different sites, youtubes, posts ect and it seems the best choises for that price are Zeiss, Nightforce, or Nikon. My price range is about 7-800 dollars flexibable, but defiantly not $1000+. I've had very good groupings at 1-200 yards but I honestly dont know the mildot and bullet drops near as well as I should. we've been shooting stuff at 400 yards would love to be eventually pushing it to 800 yards and maybe even 1000. I recently tryed my buddies gun with a BDC reticle from a nikon scope and easily hit a groundhog at 250 yards with a .223, but not sure if it has the same effect at 800 yards or is it not as accurate? my 5-15 zoom wasnt enough for me so anything bigger would be good. Any help would be appreciated!

minumum of 5-15 and the a good clear picture lense is ideal at 40-50mm

Edit: but if there is a must have scope at around 1000 then let me know too please

just to give an idea of what im looking at:
-nikon monarch III-8-32x50 (not sure of reticle?)
-Nikin 5-20 sf x44mm BDC
-Zeiss HD5 5-25x50 Rapid-Z 800
-Zeiss Conquest 6.5-20x50 SF RapidZ 1000 Reticle
-5.5-22×50 NXS RIFLESCOPE
let me know if im looking in the wrong direction for scopes, or if you know of any cheaper but good quality scopes, thatd be sweet!
 
Dante has the Nikon Monarch III 5-20x44 on for $499. It's a good scope for the price. The 6-24x50, is on for $599.

It would be interesting to see if they are obtaining the proper export permits, if they can get the scope to you, in only two days.

There's no way anyone can consistently ship something from the US in 2 days, even with the fastest service the various couriers offer. It can sit at customs for several days, aside fom the transit times.
I don't imagine they would need a separate permit for each item, probably a blanket one for each model and/or manufacturer. Warranty is another issue though, as these are largely grey market.

And to the OP, for your under $1000 budget, you can cross the Nightforce NXS off your list, along with the Zeiss you have listed. :)
 
There are many Canadian dealers (me included) who can offer scopes at those prices, with direct contact.

US MAP is typically below Canadian MAP (set by the manufacturer, not the dealer), and if a Canadian dealer attempts to advertise below Canadian MAP (i.e. matching US MAP), another dealer will invariably file a complaint. Hence, with some brands, Canadian dealers are placed at a competitive disadvantage, particularly when a US dealer is willing to risk the substantial fines associated with shipping scopes across the border without the approval of the US State Department (i.e. proper paperwork).

You also risk losing warranty support, as some manufacturers/distributors are tracing serial numbers with a return authorization is asked for.

As to the original OP, I can certainly help him with the HD5 5-25 or Conquest 6.5-20 within the price mentioned.
 
There is no paperwork for hunting and target scopes!!!!!!!!!!!! Only military scopes!! It's something few know!!!!! The Canadian market doesn't tell you this because they'd loose business!!!!!!
I saved over $200 and there was no extra customs fees just 5% tax. The scope rings are 50% less from them than Canadian dealers!!!
Please please save your money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Too bad Costco doesn't sell scopes just like they sell their TV's, low price and they offer there own warranty, no questions asked.

You're full of sh+t and giving illegal advice. I suggest you swing by the friendly folks at the Department of Homeland Security booth with your newly acquired scope and see what they have to say. And the customs fees are a crapshoot, sometimes you pay duty/taxes/handling fees, sometimes nothing.

I said 2 day shipping consistently. I've ordered my fair share of stuff from the US, it can sit at Canada Customs for days, something no delivery company has control over.
 
It is too bad that Midway didn't know this. It would have saved them hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines for exporting scopes without a licence.

Then you go to the country chart, and you will find a "X" under FC for Canada. This means you will need an export permit to export to Canada.
