Im sure this has been asked before....but does anyone know if dies can be bought in the US and shipped up here?
More specifically from Brownells

Thanks!

I order from TitanReloading.com all the time. Never have an issue, though Customs can be slow...

DO NOT get them shipped to a US address and bring them over yourself... ITAR is complicated and apparently there are provisions that only cleared parties may export.

Has anyone ever had problems with duty fees?

I was gonna order some dies from Basspro when they had their free shipping offer at christmas.
But when I saw that "prices subject to duty and taxes" I got nervous.

I would just as soon buy from a canadian company, but I hate paying shipping on stuff that is overpriced already.
Also seems to be a lack of stores with a good selection of RCBS products.

If the dies are manufactured in the USA you will be duty free. You may only have to pay the taxes (Fed and Prov). If they are shipped from the US, you may have to pay brokerage fees, so keep that in mind.

I order a lot of stuff from the USA and I don't know what happened but I haven't had to pay duty or taxes for a couple of years. We ordered 400 bucks of decoys from basspro in the fall and had no issue. No taxes or duties. I heard that boarder services were refusing to do revenue Canada's work

For those of you worried about duty....made in USA = no duty.

All you will pay for is shipping and "sometimes" taxes if cbsa opens it. Have it sent by mail and not by courier this way no brokerage fees.

I need a Lee bullet sizing kit and nobody in town has it for sale so I'm left with having to mail order

Canada $26 + 10%tax + it has to go Canpar $28 (because of the tube of bullet lube) total $58
Us $20 + $11 shipping $31 US total there is a slight chance I might see $5 + taxes duty I in 50 chance

I think I'll be ordering from Wisconsin

Check out Natchez Shooting Sports. Specify you want USPS First Class Parcel as the method of shipping in the remarks section of the order. If the shipping address is Canada they always email you with the shipping quote before they charge your credit card. Great people to deal with.

I used to deal with Buffalo Arms a lot but they switched to using Fedex for shipping to Canada, so i don't shop there any more.

ITAR doesn't apply to reloading kit for some unknown reason.

Agree but disagree also from experience. It must be clearly stated that if it is a reloading automated machine for example it has to be manually activated. I had a hydraulic MEC tied up at customs for months due to the word automated so now we put manual activated right in the paper work. Automated apparently cannot be shipped to canada. Had the same issues with a automated brass annealer some years back. That they would not allow to keep coming
Rest of the gear I agree no problem

I've bought reloading tools from Natchez, Sinclair International and Cabelas USA. None of the products were ITAR-controlled.

Cabelas USA does the EDI handshake with CBSA which means all charges are prepaid and your order can be direct delivered without
any further handshake with the carrier for taxes and duty collection. Which means you know exactly what you'll be paying when you build your shopping cart.

I recently bought an RCBS die from Cabelas USA that I cold not find in Canada or stock at Brownells or Natchez.
