The Jericho (known as the Baby Eagle at the time) was on my very short list to buy for my first gun. I really like it. But then someone let me shoot their CZ Shadow a few times and again later the next week. It was love at first mag for the CZ.
If you don't want to spring for the rather expensive Shadow II then consider one of the original Shadows or an 85 Combat or even the basic 75B. They are all superb firearms. The 85 and 75 may not be as pointed towards competition as the Shadow and Shadow II but you could still go a long way using them if you are up to the job. And fun wise they are excellent.
On the other hand if you have your heart set on the Jericho you won't go wrong there either. It was a REALLY close second place to the CZ for me.
