I have a G22 and would recomend a G17. Unless there is a specific reason you want a .40, stick with the 9 mm. You will have more fun with it and for cheaper. That was my first 40 after several 9mm pistols and it takes quite a few rounds to get comfortable and good with the the .40 round especially in such a light gun.
I will say the G22 is a great gun if thats what you are looking for. 2k rounds without a single hickup. My reason for buying it was because I have a few 9mm pistols and wanted something bigger.
