Pure lead near Montreal

Hi

I just finished my set up for casting my own bullets.

Now I need to find a company in the great Montreal area that could sell me pure lead and tin for my rolling block target casts (with 1 : 20 to 1 : 30 alloy). I wont have the intention to use wheel weights.

Ask the local muzzleloaders where they get lead. Industrial material suppliers used to sell lead and 50/50 tin/lead, but you may need a business licence and/or environmental clearance. Smaller, older hardware stores and plumbers could still have plumbers lead. The newest solder is mostly 95% tin. My buddy switched to ww with blackpowder to solve a leading problem in Quigly sharps 45-110. Most lead sheet at scrap yards is pure? Pb. Use fingernail test(scratches easily), drop it on cement floor(thud), surface is grey or white with oxide. If old alloy is shiny or rings, then it's likely hardened with antimony and/or tin.
